Men’s Mental Health Month

Men’s Mental Health Month

June is men's mental health month, and it is a good reminder that while many men are happy to talk about work, sport, family, and everyday life, talking about how they're really feeling can still be difficult.

Many of us have grown up hearing phrases like "just get on with it" or "keep your chin up". While resilience has its place, constantly carrying the weight of stress, anxiety, pressure, or loneliness on your own can take its toll.

The reality is that everyone struggles at times. There shouldn't be any shame in admitting you're having a tough day, asking for help, or checking in with someone else who might be finding things difficult.

Sometimes it's not about having all the answers. It's simply about sending a message, making a phone call, grabbing a coffee, or asking, "how are you doing?" and genuinely listening to the answer.

This month, let's make an effort to look out for ourselves and each other. A conversation that seems small to you could mean a great deal to someone else.
